James Bond on "computer glitches"

The New York Stock Exchange suspended trading temporarily earlier today due to a "computer glitch" that NYSE executives insisted was absolutely not a cyber attack. This happened within hours of other at American Airlines, which left airplanes across the country grounded, and at the Wall Street Journal.

This makes three high-profile American institutions to experience debilitating "computer glitches" within hours of each other.

I am reminded, therefore, of something that Ian Fleming once wrote in his James Bond novel Goldfinger. "Once is an accident," he wrote. "Twice is a coincidence. Three times is an enemy action."
