Tax deduction for going to a strip club?

A lot of things go through my mind during the course of a normal day. I blog about some of them. One the things that I have wondered is this: medical studies have shown that staring at women's breasts can improve a man's heart health and add as much as five to ten years onto his life. Sources for this information can be found in Men's Health, Fox News, and The Daily Record.
Therefore, if staring at a woman's breasts is good for a man's health (assuming that his wife and/or girlfriend doesn't kill him for looking at another woman's breasts) then could that same guy deduct the expenses associated with going to a strip club as a medical expense?
Looking at breasts is rather obviously one of the main reasons why a guy goes to a strip club, if not the sole reason. Looking at breasts does have documented health benefits, which could lead one to conclude that the dancers at those clubs are "qualified medical professionals" in the sense that they are qua…

Trumpcare negotiations break down

Negotiations between President Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans have apparently hit a major snag. A crucial vote to repeal and replace the Affordable Care that was originally scheduled for tonight has been canceled with no clear indication as to when it might happen.

President Trump is only two months into his tenure. He still has time to make something happen here.

However, it is looking less and less likely that there will be a successful effort to repeal and replace Obamacare. Congress will start heading off to its summer recess in a few weeks. After that, we will only have a short window before everyone in Washington starts to focus on midterm elections.

Any bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act still has to clear its last hurdles in the House and then succeed in the Senate. There is still time for this to happen, but it's starting to look less and less likely.

Reviewing the American Health Care Act

I was going to write a lengthy post, critiquing the Republican establishment's idea to repeal the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) and replace it with the American Health Care Act (a.k.a..Trumpcare). I had a detailed post sketched out in my head for the whole thing.

Obamacare vs. Trumpcare. The Affordable Care Act vs. the American Health Care Act. It was going to be a beautiful, witty post.

Unfortunately, before I could finish actually writing my blog post on the Republican version of health care reform, John Oliver took to television. He promptly said everything that I was going to write.

Rather than repeat everything that John Oliver has already said about the American Health Care Act, I will simply embed his video above.

You win this round, John Oliver. You win this round.

I'm sure that the proposed American Health Care Act will evolve as it moves through the legislative process in Washington. I will have more to say about it as that happens.
